One amateur fighter on the card who flew under the radar leading up to the event was Treg Wells (6-3), but he’s not under the radar anymore as he put on an impressive performance in a win over Bo Smith (6-2) to become the new IT Fight Series lightweight champion. Wells used his long, lanky limbs to keep the more compact Smith on the outside, forcing Smith to open himself and come inside to land strikes. Wells used his kicks well and mixed in punches, and in the end he took the fight via unanimous decision.
At light heavyweight, Georgia’s Jay Gray (6-1) claimed the IT Fight Series light heavyweight title, as he used solid wrestling and ground and pound to hand Jahci Lyles (3-1) his first loss.
