Geo. Wiedemann Brewing Company

Geo. Wiedemann Brewing Company
4811 Vine St, St. Bernard

The George Wiedemann Brewing Company is a legacy brand similar to Christian Moerlein, and it was purchased by John Newberry in 2011 with plans to open a new taproom in Northern Kentucky. Fast forward 7 years, and the new Wiedemann taproom finally opened in the St. Bernard neighborhood of Cincinnati in June 2018. It’s a former funeral home, with a very blue collar feel.

In addition to beer, they also offer a food menu with pub food like burgers, a French dip, schnitzel, and fish. They also have appetizers, salads, and even goetta tots!

Former Cellar Dweller head brewer Steve Shaw joined Wiedemann, and he began brewing the brand’s legacy beers in 2018. Wiedemann also features a full menu and multiple bars.

Must-try beer: Bohemian Special Brew (Lager) – The modern day version of the legendary Wiedemann’s Bohemian pilsner that made the brand famous, this is a light drinking beer with a nice malty undertone. The new Wiedemann’s has also dipped their toes into “modern” beers with brewer Steve Shaw, but this one remains the classic.

Other great beers: Royal, Oktoberfest, Bock
