Cincinnati is bringing home more hardware, as Streetside, Brink, and Wandering Monsters all picked up GABF 2024 medals.
Great American Beer Festival takes place in Denver annually, and breweries from the Queen City are no stranger to winning at the event.
Streetside Brewery, located in Columbia Tusculum, won a gold medal in the English-style Brown Ale category for Black Cats. It’s the first GABF medal for Streetside, but not the first medal for Black Cats. The same beer also won a silver medal at the World Beer Cup in 2023 and a silver medal at the US Open Beer Championship earlier this year. It also won a gold medal at the Ohio Craft Brewer’s Cup last year. It’s now one of the few beers that has medaled at all three major craft beer competitions.
Brink Brewing Co, located in College Hill, continues their amazing streak of winning at GABF every year, as they took home a bronze medal in the Sweet Stout or Cream Stout category for Moozie. Moozie is one of the most awarded beers in Cincinnati, as this is the fifth GABF medal for that beer alone. It’s also won a World Beer Cup medal and multiple US Open medals. Brink now has 11 GABF medals and also won the Very Small Brewery of the Year in back-to-back years in 2018 and 2019.
Wandering Monsters Brewing has been open for just over a year in Anderson, but they’re already putting their name on the map with a GABF medal after winning four at the US Open earlier this year. They won a bronze medal for Triple Chocolate Viator Obscura in the Chocolate Beer category. It’s the first GABF medal for brewer Zach Boehnke.
