Step into a world of myth and hops at Fabled Brew Works, a fantasy-themed brewery and meadery located in Erlanger, Kentucky. Opened in June 2023, this imaginative taproom was once a warehouse space, now transformed into a whimsical haven inspired by beloved fantasy franchises like The Lord of the Rings, World of Warcraft, and The Elder Scrolls.
Founded by a group of friends united by their love for craft beer and storytelling, the ownership team includes Jon Lawlor, Aaron Daniele, Mike Turvey, and Kent Wessels, with John Ewers (formerly of Listermann and Streetside) serving as the head brewer and part owner. The mead program is led by Brad Ryles, a seasoned meadmaker known for his fruit-forward and session-style creations.
Fabled Brew Works is celebrated for its diverse and adventurous beer lineup, featuring New England IPAs, dessert stouts, sours, lagers, and blonde ales. Signature brews include the PB&J-inspired sour Vi’s Berry Knuckle Sandwich, the citrusy Unlitigated Sea Monster Mexican lager, and the creamy IPA of the Beholder milkshake IPA6. With over 30 rotating taps, there’s always something new to discover.
The taproom itself is a fully immersive experience—think medieval village meets enchanted forest. Guests sip brews beneath wrought iron chandeliers, surrounded by potion cabinets, spell books, and even a lightning-struck tree trunk.
While Fabled Brew Works doesn’t operate a kitchen, they offer snacks like pretzels and chips, encourage BYOF (bring your own food), and frequently partner with local food trucks.
