Bardwell Brewery
716 N High St, Mt. Orab
Bardwell is technically a winery, but they also have beer and food and have been open since 2008. They may have food and wine, but we were here for the beer. It’s a very small little place that is run by a husband and wife, and they were very friendly in talking to us about Mt. Orab as we sat at the bar for a few minutes. If you’re a wine drinker, be sure to take home a bottle of their cabernet sauvignon.
Must-try beer: Orabian Dark (English Mild) – Bardwell is technically a winery, so perhaps I should be giving you wine recommendations from them. But alas, they also brew beer – 3 different styles – which is pretty dang good. Situated way out in Mt. Orab, it’s worth the trip just to try their Orabian Dark English Mild Ale. With a very light hop character and smooth malty flavor, this one goes down easy even at 6.5%.
Other great beers: Bronco Beer, Golden Buggy
