Moeller Brew Barn opened in tiny Maria Stein in northern Ohio in 2015, eventually expanding to a former church in Troy in 2019.
In September 2022, they took over the former Rivertown Brewing Company space in Monroe that closed earlier in the year. They invested over $4 million in the space, although much of the location was turn-key as it was built ground-up in 2017. The biggest additions were a garage door to give an indoor-outdoor feel to the patio seating, and a revamped kitchen that features brick oven pizzas, sandwiches, and crock dishes.
Moeller Brew Barn also opened a location in downtown Dayton near the Dayton Dragons’ DayAir Ball Park in 2022, and have one planned in Plain City northwest of Columbus as well.
Must-try beer: Blackberry Prairie Wheat (wheat beer) – It’s not every day that a brewery features a wheat beer as a core offering, but Moeller’s Blackberry Prairie is a unique offering featuring blackberries from Cranberry Prairie. Featuring a purple hue tint and lots of fruitiness, it goes down easy at 5.8%.
