BC’s Bottle Lodge has long been a staple of the Cincinnati craft beer scene, as they have a pair of bottle shops and have been around for about a decade. But now they have joined the brewing scene, opening up BC’s Brewing Co. between Mason and Lebanon in June 2024.

Ryan Johnston – who has brewed at MadTree – heads up the brewing operations with co-owners Brian Brownlow and Caleb Colbert heading up the business side. The brewhouse is a 15bbl system that was purchased from the original MadTree location.

Their goal is to focus on traditional craft beer styles, meaning beers with limited adjuncts. They also expect to do a good number of collaborations to build on the relationships they’ve built with other breweries around Cincinnati and the country while operating their original business.

They decided to close the Montgomery Bottle Lodge location prior to the brewery opening, and they also closed the Liberty Bottle Lodge in fall 2024 just a few months after starting the brewery.

The brewery location features a robust outdoor space. They don’t have their own food program, but Walt’s Hitching Post is reportedly opening a concept next to their taproom that they will tie in to have available to order.
