FigLeaf Brewing Co

FigLeaf Brewing Co
3387 Cincinnati Dayton Rd, Middletown

Is FigLeaf Brewing Co in Cincinnati, Dayton, or no man’s land? My answer is: who cares? The brewery is conveniently situated in Middletown right between the Queen City and Gem City, and is one of the more underrated in the area. Their taproom opened in October 2016 and is a very familiar style, with a massive bar and open feeling overlooking some giant brewing equipment.

In 2019, FigLeaf joined the legion of breweries being acquired, although their acquisition was a little unique. Instead of being bought out by a massive global conglomerate, they were purchased by none other than Blue Ash’s March First Brewing. The change came along with an expansion announcement, so it’s a safe bet that we’ll be seeing a bigger and better FigLeaf as well as more of their beer in the market soon.

Must-try beer: Doc’s Brown Snake Oil (Belgian Quad) – I’ll be the first to admit that I’m not necessarily the biggest fan of Belgian style beers, but this slightly sweet and boozy Quad definitely hits the mark for me. FigLeaf has been impressive from their spot in Middletown, including winning a silver medal at the 2017 US Open Beer Competition for their Ponderous Porter.

Other great beers: Ponderous Porter, ISO-Trope, Pride of CinDay
