Warped Wing Brewing Co. is Dayton’s largest brewery, and they became a part of the Cincinnati brewery scene when they officially open their third location in Mason in February 2022.
Warped Wing opened in the space that was formerly Basil’s on Market – it was set to become a brewery known as Off the Rails Brewery before the pandemic hit and the owners decided to shutter the entire operation. The site sits at the corner of Tylersville Rd and State Route 42.
The 13,000 square foot space features a taproom with an outdoor biergarten, a small pilot brewing system, and will eventually feature an event space.
The location offers a full dining experience, similar to that of their Barrel Room & Smokery location in Springboro. Warped Wing opened their downtown Dayton location in 2014 and the Springboro location in 2020.
Named after the wing warping system invented by The Wright Brothers that helped them create the first airplanes, Warped Wing has long distributed their beer to the Cincinnati area. They’re known for their core lineup featuring Gamma Bomb (IPA), Ermal’s (Belgian Cream Ale), 10 TON (oatmeal stout), Trotwood (light lager), and Flyer Red (red lager). They also release popular seasonal beers like their barrel-aged imperial stout Whiskey Rebellion, Esther’s Li’l Secret collaboration with Esther Price, and CreepShow smoked beer.
In 2022, it was announced that Warped Wing will open a fourth location, as they plan to expand to Huber Heights north of Dayton with a new brewery and taproom.
