Braxton Labs closes, to be replaced by Party Source bourbon bar

Cincinnati’s first brewery closing of the year has come, as Braxton Brewing Company has decided to close their Braxton Labs location at The Party Source.

Braxton Labs has served as an experimental brewing operation for Braxton since opening in 2017 as a replacement for the shuttered Ei8ht Ball Brewing.

Braxton has said that they plan to continue the “Labs” concept, just without a physical location. Labs will now stay “keenly focused on continuing to create the most innovative beers we can.”

They’ve also created a new look for Braxton Labs, and the focus will now be on creating IPA, Dessert Berliners, Imperial Stouts, and Dry Hopped Pilsners.

Braxton still has three locations, including their original spot in Covington, Barrel House in Ft. Mitchell, and a location in Cincinnati in the former 3 Points location. They’re also working to open a taproom at CVG Airport this year.

The space at the back of The Party Source won’t sit empty for long, however, as the giant liquor store is planning to open an in-house bourbon bar later this year.
