HighGrain Brewing Co
6860 Plainfield Rd, Silverton
9176 Winton Rd, Brentwood
HighGrain Brewing Co opened as Silverton’s first brewery in 2019. They took over a former municipal building and added a large patio.
HighGrain’s focuses are great beer, community, sustainability, and food. And since opening, they’re hitting all four pillars on the head. Started by former members of the Christian Moerlein team, they’re in tune with both the history and the future of beer in Cincinnati. Head brewer Matt Utter has quietly become one of the most respected in the city.
HighGrain features an open, airy taproom with different spaces both for those looking to focus on a traditional dining setting as well as those looking for a more bar-like experience. They also have a large outdoor patio and a downstairs event space.
HighGrain Brentwood
In May 2024, HighGrain opened a new larger location in the former Brentwood Bowl. They transitioned most of their brewing operations to the new location, which is around 50,000 total square feet. In addition to a large dining area that seats 300 guests, there’s also an outdoor covered patio and green space.
Along with HighGrain, the location is also be home to Revel OTR Urban Winery and La Terza Artisan Coffee.
Must-try beer: Amazonas Exposure (farmhouse/saison) – A wet-hopped saison with hops from Hopped Farms in Cincinnati, this beer was brewed fresh and tastes fresh. It’s also cool that proceeds went to help improve the Amazon rainforest.
Other great beers: Isar Weiss (Hefeweizen), Oost (Belgian Golden Strong Ale)
