The Beers and Beards Podcast is hosted by longtime friends David McKinney and Gary Thomas. They met when they both covered local mixed martial arts for rival websites that they owned in the early 2010s. Eventually, David joined Gary and Juan Valle at BluegrassMMA and they became a formidable force. They covered events, interviewed fighters, and had a podcast.
Eventually, BluegrassMMA was sold but David and Gary still wanted to collaborate, so they started the Beers and Beards Podcast in 2020. They combined David’s love of craft beer and Gary’s love of bourbon to bring a podcast featuring two guys who are far from experts but still love drinking. Each week they review a new beer and bourbon.
