Karrikin Spirits Company is unique in the Cincinnati landscape in that they are a distillery first, restaurant second, and brewery third. A group of founders came together from multiple different backgrounds, including distillers, brewers, and chefs, and the space opened as Fairfax’s first brewery in 2018.
What they built was Karrikin, a modern distillery and wood-fired craft kitchen that produces spirits, sparkling spirits, non-alcoholic soda, and beer.
The building itself is large and open, with great views of the distillery and brewery featuring lots of copper stills and equipment. They have a huge bar, as well as plenty of high-top tables with a distinctly modern feel.
Must-try beer: Pils (Pilsner) – It’s not easy to brew a great pilsner, because there are no adjuncts or crazy amounts of hops to hide imperfections. What you have here is a crisp, clean pilsner that rivals any in town.
