[tps_title]Matt Brown refuses to fight[/tps_title]
In one of the more obscure moments of the night, what was scheduled as the night’s first pro fight ended before it even started as Matt Brown (0-1) refused to come to the cage when his name was called for his catchweight bout against Lucas Ransbottom (0-0).
IT Fight Series matchmaker Aaron Garrett entered the cage and explained the situation, that Brown had decided during the intermission that he had no intention to compete. Garrett called Ransbottom to the cage and had ring announcer Rick Toms declare him the winner, but the win isn’t an official victory since the bout never actually happened.
Brown is likely to be suspended by the athletic commission and probably won’t be allowed to fight in Ohio again, but we’re hoping that Ransbottom gets a chance to compete sooner rather than later.
