[tps_title]Leg kicks do win fights[/tps_title]
A lot of times leg kicks are seen in a similar vain to the jab – it won’t knock your opponent out or finish the fight, but you use it to set up other things with more power that can improve your chances to win. But that wasn’t the case on Saturday night, as both professional bouts ended as a result of leg kicks.
First, Jason Riley (10-7) punished the leg of Tim Dunn (2-5) with a barrage of kicks, eventually causing the big heavyweight to collapse as he was unable to stand anymore. Riley also landed a healthy dose of punches to Dunn’s head and broke his nose, but it was the leg kicks that did the most damage and stopped the fight.
Then in the main event, Alfred Leisure (4-0) mixed up his strikes in the first round and even landed a clean head kick to Manuel Correa (1-2), but it was the repeated shots to the right leg of the Cuban that won the fight for Leisure. Just over a minute into the second round, Correa verbally submitted after a leg kick, effectively ending the fight and making him the new IT Fight Series bantamweight champion.
