[tps_title]Longood wins off of his back[/tps_title]
Josh Longood (2-0) said he wasn’t happy with his performance, but he was impressive in winning a rare round off of his back in his main event bout against Jeff Mack (0-1). Longood used elbows and knees in the clinch early in the first round, but Mack finished a nice takedown to make his way to Longood’s guard. Once on the ground, it was “The Honeybadger” who was trying to finish the fight, as he chained a deep triangle attempt with at least half a dozen arm bar attempts. Mack was able to fend off the attack from Longood on the ground and land a few choice shots. The positioning wasn’t enough for Mack to win the round, as it was scored for Longood. Then in the second round, Mack once again ended up on top, but it was Longood who continued to chain submissions. Eventually, he locked in an arm bar, and he rolled Mack to his back, where he was forced to tap as his arm began to pop.
It was yet another solid win for Longood, who keeps improving in his young career. He has now won five fights in a row dating back to his amateur career, and he is 9-0 under the RFO banner in his hometown.
