[tps_title]V3 Fights – Johnson vs. Kennedy[/tps_title]
January 24th – Memphis, TN
V3 Fights returns to Memphis with another pro/am card, featuring a headliner where Wade Johnson (7-1) will take on Drew Kennedy (5-1). Johnson is the current V3 welterweight champion, but he’ll be looking to rebound from his first career loss when he came up short against Thomas Gifford at Legacy FC 34 in August. Kennedy is also coming off of a loss, as his last outing was almost two years ago in a defeat to Roger Carroll at Fight Lab 30.
The card features 3 other pro bouts, including Jaleel Willis (2-0) vs. Dameon Melton (3-11), and a pair of rising stars in Ryan Collins (1-0) and Bryce Mitchell (0-0, 9-0 am) in separate bouts. Collins will face Jesse Sanderson (0-0, 4-1 am) in one bout, while the 20-year-old Mitchell will make his pro debut against Sheldon Smith (1-0). Both fighters joined BluegrassMMA Live earlier this week to discuss their fights.
On the amateur side of things, three titles will be on the line, including Amberlynn Orr (4-1) vs. Alyssa Vasquez (6-4) for the women’s bantamweight title. The fights will be streamed live at V3Fights.com.
