The main event is set for the next offering from Explosive Fight Promotions, as Caged Madness 34 is set to go down on February 21 at the Tadmore Shrine Center in Akron, Ohio.
EFP matchmaker Scott Corbin made the annoucement via his Facebook page that the main feature of the all-amateur event will showcase the finals of a four-man light heavyweight tournament that began last week at Caged Madness 33. That fight will see Ray Hollis (4-2) take on Lionel Woods (6-1) for the organization’s 205-pound title.
Both fighters picked up impressive victories at Caged Madness 33, as Hollis survived a back-and-forth battle with Mesmaran Sunsearay (3-2), eventually earning the win via standing guillotine in the third round. Woods and Chris Woods (3-3) put on an entertaining grappling battle, with Woods pulling away in the second frame and eventually earning the TKO stoppage in the second round. You can see a full recap of Caged Madness 33 here.
The organization is also apparently looking for an opponent to face Izzy William (6-2) in what would be a welterweight title bout. William earned a title shot with a first round submission victory over Chris Minor at Caged Madness 28 last April. The Evolve MMA product has earned his other five victories via strikes, including four inside the first round.
Be sure to stay tuned to BluegrassMMA.com as more bouts are expected to be announced for Caged Madness 34 shortly.
