[tps_title]Bluegrass Brawl 14: Monster Mash & Bash[/tps_title]
October 18th – Lexington, KY
Tommy Ray Cornett and crew enter a bit of a new era for the Brawl, as Brandon “Hardrock” Higdon was recently hired as matchmaker and this will be his first card taking on those duties with a solid pro/am lineup. In the main event, TUF 19 veteran Josh Clark (8-2) returns to the Bluegrass State once again, as he’ll take on Justin Gamble (3-3). Clark scored a win over Marcus Finch at Bluegrass Brawl 13 in June after his time on the UFC’s reality show was up, and he’ll look to post a fourth consecutive win overall to his official fight record. Gamble hasn’t competed since last August, when he was submitted by current UFC fighter Luke Zachrich in the first round.
Two other pro bouts are also slated for the card, as Que Parks (1-0) looks to stay perfect while welcoming Scott Dabe (0-0, 9-7 am) to the pro ranks. Parks was successful in his pro debut in June, earning a TKO after Robert Howard couldn’t answer the bell for the second round at Hardrock 55. Dabe makes his pro debut after a year on the sidelines. The night’s third pro bout will feature Steven Bell (2-3) taking on Tom Eskew (1-3). Bell picked up his second pro win with a submission over veteran Tony Parker at Turf Wars 21 just two weeks ago. Eskew looks to rebound from a loss to Michael Cockerham last month.
In amateur action, four titles will be on the line: Bryan McDowell (7-5) looks for his fourth straight win as he faces Travis Conner (2-1) in a rematch for the middleweight title, Joe Lazzaratto (5-8) defends his featherweight title against Christopher Meyers (9-11), Harry Hansucker (6-3) faces Robert Little (2-2) for the heavyweight title, and Markeith Gillis (7-3) faces Kyle Gulley (2-0) for the super heavyweight title.
Cornett, Gamble, and Parks all joined BluegrassMMA Live earlier this week to talk about the event. You can check out the full card here.
