Recap – Caged Madness 36

[tps_title]Pennsylvania invasion[/tps_title]
Four fighters from Pennsylvania showed up to Caged Madness 36, and four fighters took home wins at Caged Madness 36. Chris Araujo (5-4) joined a trio of Pittsburgh fighters in producing a perfect night for the Keystone State.

Frankie Festa (5-1) put on an impressive performance in the night’s main event, blasting Devon Kelleher (3-2) with a flurry in the first round, including a mean left hook. He then took control in the second round, eventually earning the tap via rear naked choke. After the win, Festa said he plans to move up to light heavyweight.

Araujo and Eddy Faison (5-5) put on a show in the super heavyweight co-main event, and Luke Burdette (4-4) made a successful return to the cage after being away from action since 2011.

But perhaps the biggest future star from Pittsburgh is AJ Wilkins (1-0). The 19-year-old wrestler absolutely mauled Matt Rhodes (0-2) in their flyweight contest, and he also showed that he can bring a big crowd as there was a massive ovation for him when he was introduced. If Wilkins is anything like his big brother pro fighter Mike Wilkins, then we may have seen the debut of a future star on Saturday night. I can’t remember this much hype about a 19-year-old fighter in the area since Cody Garbrandt was knocking out opponents on the amateur circuit.
