West Sixth opening taproom at Bridgeview Box Park in Newport

Cincinnatians will soon have another craft beer option in Northern Kentucky, as Lexington-based West Sixth Brewing is set to open a taproom at Bridgeview Box Park at Newport on the Levee.

Bridgeview Box Park is an expansive open-air venue, with pop-up style locations housed in former shipping containers. The large venue has become a destination for many in the reimagined Newport on the Levee, and it has been a fan favorite for its Covid-friendly space since opening last year.

According to the Cincinnati Business Courier, West Sixth will take the space that Leaf and Limb formerly occupied, as Leaf and Limb moved to the indoor Trade Market adjacent to the box park.

West Sixth currently has locations in Lexington, Frankfort, and Louisville, and this will be their first location in Northern Kentucky.

The West Sixth Box Park location will coincide with the loss of the Wooden Cask Brewing Company location, which opened a shared space last year with Ludlow’s Second Sight Spirits. They announced over the weekend that they would no longer be at the Box Park, but hinted that they may have another announcement soon.

Newport on the Levee continues to be overhauled from the original hybrid indoor/outdoor shopping center to a food and drink destination, with almost exclusively local operators.

Levee owners North American Properties also announced that Cincinnati-based 4EG will open a 2,800-square food bar on the property, as Beeline will be a sister location to the same concept they opened in Columbus last year. The bar will feature a large patio with views of the Ohio River and will specialize in cocktails.

Other new additions to the Bridgeview Box Park include Buzz, a similar concept to Beeline from 4EG that will serve up frozen drinks, Blackhouse Saloon, which will feature cocktails, and CrepeGuys, a sweet and savory crepe space.

The new additions to Bridgeview are expected to be open in time for the Memorial Day grand opening of the 2021 season.

Updated to include that the Wooden Cask location at Bridgeview closed prior to the West Sixth location opening.
