After more than three years at Newport on the Levee with their Bridgeview Box Park location, West Sixth is graduating. They’ll have a full-time spot when they open the West Sixth Covington Haus this fall.
The location housing West Sixth Covington Haus, located at 100 W Sixth Street in Covington, has a long history. It was originally a firehouse, and the brick building features arched windows and intricate exterior stonework. Over the years, it has been home to multiple businesses. They include a sports bar, a popular bar named the Covington Haus, and most recently Flying Axes. The top floor of the building features the popular cocktail bar Second Story.
The location will feature 20 taps of West Sixth beer. They’re known for their West Sixth IPA, Pay It Forward! Cocoa Porter, Amber Ale, West Sixth Cerveza, and more.
West Sixth currently has locations in Lexington, Frankfort, and Louisville, and this will be their first full-time location in Northern Kentucky.
West Sixth opened in 2012 in a 100-year-old building in Lexington and has become a familiar name across Kentucky and Southwest Ohio as they’ve distributed their beer in the region. In addition to announcing the location, they also announced an expanded partnership with Chas Seligman Distributing in the area.
The Northern Kentucky brewery scene continues to grow, as the area now features Braxton Brewing Company (just a few blocks away from the Covington Haus), Wooden Cask Brewing Company, 16 Lots Brewing Company, Hofbrauhaus, Bircus Brewing, and more.
