Sonder Brewing will become the latest Cincinnati brewery to have multiple locations, as they are opening the Sonder Taphaus & Kitchen in West Chester this year.
Sonder Brewing will open the taproom in a high visibility location just off of I-75 at Union Centre Blvd, with people able to see the location from the highway in both directions. The location also has major anchor co-tenants, including Top Golf and Holtmann’s Donuts.
Sonder said in a press release that they’ve been looking for a second location for two years, and that West Chester residents were some of their best customers when they began home deliveries during the pandemic.
The location is expected to feature more of an adult bar feel while still being family-friendly. They space will also feature a private event space, as well as a curated food menu and wine and bourbon selections.
They’ll still do all of their brewing at their original location in Mason, which opened in 2018. They’ve been one of the most successful newer breweries in the city over the past few years, including expansion into distribution and winning medals at the Great American Beer Festival and US Open Beer Championships.
Sonder has become known for varied beer styles, ranging from traditional European styles to more experimental styles like sours and New England IPAs.
There has been a major rush of breweries opening second locations in the past year. MadTree opened their Alcove location in OTR in 2022. Paradise Brewing and Municipal Brew Works also opened second locations last year. Looking ahead, 16 Lots, Bircus, Braxton, Fretboard, March First, and Third Eye are expected to open additonal locations in the near future.
