Yet another Cincinnati-area brewery is set to open a satellite taproom, as Fretboard Brewing Company recently announced that they will open a 6,000 square foot taproom at the Factory 52 development in Norwood.
The Blue Ash-based Fretboard opened their main brewery in 2017, and then expanded to Hamilton as they opened the Fretboard Public House in the former Quarter Barrel location in 2019. The Norwood location will be their third location overall, as they join the likes of Taft’s and Braxton with more than two taprooms in the Cincinnati area.
Factory 52 will also be home to a taproom from Asheville-based Hi-Wire Brewing, as they announced their first Ohio location in the development last year. The Hi-Wire location is slated to open this fall, while the Fretboard location at the other end of the development is expected to open in spring 2023.
The Fretboard location will be part of The Gatherall, a 20,000 square foot food hall with 14 restaurants and a rooftop bar. Fretboard’s taproom will be 3,300 square feet with a large outdoor patio to bring the entire space to around 6,000 square feet.
PLK Communities is redeveloping the former US Playing Card factory, an overall 20-acre site with a development price tag of more than $100 million. The development will include apartments, breweries, boutiques, a public market, a bark park, outdoor social areas, eateries and creative office spaces.
