Newport on the Levee continues its rebirth as one of the best spots in the city for a craft beer fan. Already featuring a Wooden Cask taproom and the West Sixth Box Park, a third brewery will open a space, as 16 Lots Brewing Co. announced they’ll open the Southern Outpost at the Levee later this year.
Located in the former Jefferson Hall, the location will occupy 7,700 square feet of interior space which will house the 10 bbl brewery, taproom and an upscale gastropub. There is also a 3,000 square foot patio with views of the Ohio River, and a 1,000 square foot part of the brewery will be turned into “Sgt. Del’s Cigar Hideout.” The 10 bbl brewery will triple the production capacity for 16 Lots, from 1,000 barrels to 3,000 barrels annually.
16 Lots is also looking for a chef partner to run the food portion of the brewery. In addition to beer, they’ll also offer adult slushies and cocktails. The taproom will have a nautical theme, some of which they’ve incorporated in their original location in Mason.
16 Lots is set to join a growing number of Cincinnati breweries with multiple locations, including Taft’s, Braxton, Fretboard, Listermann, Bircus, and Nine Giant.
