They’re calling it a “nook of nature.”

The MadTree Alcove is set to open this week, and the brewery is going to bring some much-needed greenspace to Cincinnati’s Over-the-Rhine neighborhood. Situated in a building with more than a hundred years of history, the Alcove will feature MadTree Brewing Company beers, house-made cocktails, and upscale farm-to-table food from chef Stephen Williams.

The space is multi-level and multi-dimensional, with “a large bar, light-filled lounges, dining areas and an intimate private dining room for small groups.” There’s also a greenhouse bar and an outdoor patio with Chinese elm trees.

MadTree, which is a member of 1% for the Planet and donates part of its profits back to the community, looks to liven up Over-the-Rhine with plenty of greenery and trees. OTR is known for its beautiful architecture and the MadTree space incorporated that into the design.

The Alcove also features two event spaces: The Gathering Room and The Loft. The Gathering Room can fit up to 60 seated and 100 standing and The Loft can host 150 seated and 200 standing.

In conjunction with the opening of the Alcove, MadTree has also launched a canned cocktail line called Sway, featuring spirits from Northside Distilling Co.

MadTree opened their original location in 2013 and quickly outgrew their small space. They opened “MadTree 2.0” in 2017 in Oakley and have continued to grow and be one of the gems of the Cincinnati craft beer scene.
