Municipal Brew Works announces site for second location

Hamilton’s Municipal Brew Works will become the latest Greater Cincinnati brewery to add a second location, as they’ll open up in the planned Spooky Nook development in Hamilton.

Spooky Nook, which is currently under construction, is an indoor sports complex and hotel that will also include retail space.

Municipal will take about 5,000 of the 55,000 square foot building, where they’ll implement a seven-barrel brewing system with 30 taps available.

The entire Spooky Nook development is 1.3 million square feet, with about 700,00 square feet dedicated to the sports complex, making it the largest sports complex in North America. It’s planned to open in December 2021.

The second location will be a godsend for Municipal, which has had trouble keeping up with demand at their original location. They’ve actually had to start contract brewing some of their more popular beers at another local brewery in order to have a variety of beers available for their customer base.

Municipal opened in 2016 in a former municipal building near downtown Hamilton and they’ve continued to grow over the past five years, including canning their beer and having it available for limited distribution.

Spooky Nook’s two separate locations will be Mill One and Mill Two. Mill One will be a fitness center, climbing/adventure center, hardwood, turf and sport courts for volleyball, field hockey, basketball and more at Mill One. Mill Two will include a 16-room conference center and hotel.
