Brink Brewing headed to distribution with cans

Just over a week into the year, and 2021 seems like it’s headed in a different direction than 2020.

At least when it comes to drinking beer.

The news just broke that perhaps Cincinnati’s best brewery will be headed to distribution with packaging for the first time, as Brink Brewing Co. released labels for their first four beers on social media.

The labels include releases of their Great American Beer Festival winning Moozie Milk Stout and Hold the Reins English Mild, as well as Damocles Black Milkshake IPA and Maiden Voyage New England IPA.

Moozie and Hold the Reins will be 12 oz cans while Damocles and Maiden Voyage will be packaged in 16 oz cans. The 12 oz cans look like they’ll come in cardboard wrapped six packs while the 16 oz will be in four packs.

The branding is super fresh and clean, with bright colors that are sure to stand out on any shelf.

Owner Andy McCleese also shared a few more labels that are near complete, including Summertide Cream Ale and On the Brink IPA.

This news makes me look incredibly smart, as more packaging was one of my 2021 Cincinnati beer predictions that I posted just this week.

But I admit that I did have a bit of a heads up, as Adena Distributing owner Michael Amann hinted at this when he joined my Brewery Adventures podcast to discuss Brink. Adena will be the distributor for Brink packaging in the Southwest Ohio area.

Located in Cincinnati’s College Hill neighborhood, Brink is a two-time winner of the Very Small Brewery of the Year award at the Great American Beer Festival.

Former head brewer and co-founder Kelly Montgomery transitioned to Third Eye Brewing Co. last year, but brewers Drew Piller and Clint Smock have continued to put out great beers.

Be on the lookout for Brink cans in your favorite local bottle shop early this year.
