Northern Kentucky’s Braxton Brewing Company is officially going to be an Ohio brewery as of this weekend, as their Braxton Cincinnati location is set to host its grand opening on Sept. 12.
The space, located in Pendleton at 331 E. 13th St., is the former home of 3 Points Urban Brewery, which closed in March. Braxton has taken over the facility and 10bbl brewery and will keep much of the same feel that the art-focused space had before. They’ll also brew beer there, and could even have some exclusive offerings that aren’t offered at any of their three Kentucky locations.
Billed as “a new location focused on blending every experience we’ve brought to life in Northern Kentucky, now across the river,” the space will help them become a true member of the Cincinnati craft beer scene.
“With this new location, we’ll be able to better serve our fans in the Cincinnati area more frequently, while also becoming a part of the culture of the Over the Rhine community.”
Braxton, which earlier this year was named as the fourth-fastest growing craft brewery in the country by the Brewers Association, already operates three locations in Northern Kentucky.
The original location opened in Covington in 2015, and the “HQ” has since expanded to include multiple event spaces as well as a rooftop bar. Braxton Labs opened in Party Source in 2017, in the space formerly occupied by Ei8ht Ball Brewing. The space focuses on innovation brewing small batches. Braxton Barrel House opened in 2019 in Ft. Mitchell in a former Remke grocery store, and this space focuses on the company’s robust barrel-aging program.
Braxton is the second-largest brewery in Kentucky (behind Lexington’s Alltech), and they’re known for a wide variety of beers, including Storm cream ale, Tropic Flare New England IPA, and Dark Charge Russian Imperial Stout. They’ve also done a series of beers with Graeter’s Ice Cream.
During the grand opening celebration, Tracy Walker will play from 12pm-4pm and the Hot Magnolias from 6pm-9pm. All socially distanced guidelines will remain in place for the opening. Braxton is also offering a presale on a special stein from Rookwood Potter to commemorate their fifth anniversary as well as the opening of the Cincinnati location.
