After months of rumors, Braxton Brewing Company will soon expand to its fourth location, as Braxton Cincinnati will become the fast-growing brewery’s first location in Ohio.
Braxton will take over the former 3 Points Urban Brewery location in Pendleton, with a plan to reopen the space later this summer. 3 Points opened in 2018 by the Hickory Wald Group, but the brewery closed in March when restaurants were shut down by the state due to Covid-19. The owners decided to pull out of the location, instead focusing on their other locations including Nation Kitchen & Bar, Rhinehaus, and The Hannaford.
Billed as “a new location focused on blending every experience we’ve brought to life in Northern Kentucky, now across the river,” the space will help them become a true member of the Cincinnati craft beer scene.
“With this new location, we’ll be able to better serve our fans in the Cincinnati area more frequently, while also becoming a part of the culture of the Over the Rhine community.”
Braxton, which earlier this year was named as the fourth-fastest growing craft brewery in the country by the Brewers Association, already operates three locations in Northern Kentucky.
The original location opened in Covington in 2015, and the “HQ” has since expanded to include multiple event spaces as well as a rooftop bar. Braxton Labs opened in Party Source in 2017, in the space formerly occupied by Ei8ht Ball Brewing. The space focuses on innovation brewing small batches. Braxton Barrel House opened in 2019 in Ft. Mitchell in a former Remke grocery store, and this space focuses on the company’s robust barrel-aging program.
Braxton is the second-largest brewery in Kentucky (behind Lexington’s Alltech), and they’re known for a wide variety of beers, including Storm cream ale, Tropic Flare New England IPA, and Dark Charge Russian Imperial Stout. They’ve also done a series of beers with Graeter’s Ice Cream.
