Dom Steele (14-6, 1-1 UFC) likely needed a win to keep his UFC contract, and that’s exactly what he did at UFC Fight Night 79.
The Cincinnati native traveled all the way to South Korea for his sophomore UFC appearance, and he made a lasting impression on a crazy crowd, as he slammed “Maestro” Dong Hyun Kim (13-7-3, 0-1 UFC) to the mat in the third round and finished the fight with some nasty elbows to claim the victory.
For his win, the Vision MMA product earned a $50,000 “performance of the night” bonus and likely secured his UFC roster spot for the foreseeable future.
Check out the video of the win below, and be sure to check back as Steele is likely to be a nominee for some of our 2015 BluegrassMMA awards after that victory.
