King of the Cage returned to The Meadows Casino in Washington, Pennsylvnia over the weekend, as KOTC: Hands of Steel featured some of the best fighters from the Western Pennsylvania area.
It was a bit of a letdown earlier in the week when Khama Worthy’s scheduled bout against Chris Coggins was scratched due to an injury suffered by Coggins, but the show went on nonetheless and the new main event featured a fighter who we could be seeing fight in the UFC sooner rather than later.
Heavyweight Adam Milstead (7-1) continued his tour of destruction, stopping Robert Morrow (23-20-1) via knockout in the very first round. It was the second first round knockout for “The Prototype” in just over a month’s time, and his seventh stoppage victory of his career. The 28-year-old appears destined to head to the Octagon, perhaps even before the year is out.
In a matchup of scrappy featherweights, Francis Healy (5-3), was able to defend his home turf against Brett Ewing (4-7). It was a much-needed win for Healy, who had been just 1-2 in his previous three bouts. For Ewing, he dropped his fourth bout in a row but his record is deceiving as he has faced some stiff competiton.
