Hardrock MMA 73

Hardrock MMA 73 took place last weekend at Expo Five in Louisville, Kentucky, and the fight card featured a dozen bouts, including a pair of pro offerings as well as two amateur title fights.

In the main event, Cincinnati native Chris Dunn (10-6) moved his record to 9-0 in the state of Kentucky as he stopped “The Ultimate Fighter 14” veteran B.J. Ferguson (11-5) via TKO near the end of the first round. Dunn has alternated wins and losses in his last six outings, but he appears to now be back on the right track with what many would consider to be an upset win over Ferguson. Ferguson had a three-fight winning streak snapped and is now 5-3 since his time on the UFC’s reality show.

The other pro bout featured the MMA debut of professional boxer Ruslan Aminov (0-1), but he was submitted by Brian Kerr (2-1) via armbar in the first round. Aminov is 4-0 in boxing but he’ll have to rebound from a loss if he enters the MMA cage again. Kerr has now won two in a row after picking up his first pro win over Joe Maiani in April.

On the amateur side of things, Lance Lawrence (7-0) kept his perfect record intact, as he submitted Ohio native Dru Schottenheimer (7-8-1) with a rear naked choke in the third round. Lawrence has now defended his Hardrock MMA lightweight title twice since winning it and has finished all seven of his fights via stoppage, including six submissions.

Heavyweight Harry Hansucker (7-3) finally made his return to the cage after a year off, and it took him less than a round to win the Hardrock MMA title after submitting Timothy Pinkston (8-5) with a keylock in just over two minutes.

The entire Hardrock MMA 73 fight card is still available to stream via CageCaster.com.
