A look ahead: Cincinnati breweries that are close to opening

The Cincinnati area is creeping up on 100 breweries when you include taprooms and production facilities, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t room for more breweries in the Queen City.

We’ve already seen a handful of new openings in 2023, but there are a few more spots that look close enough to opening that they could be added to the list before the end of the year. Here’s a breakdown of where some upcoming breweries are in the process of opening.

Third Eye Hamilton

Fresh off of winning Brewery of the Year at Great American Beer Festival last week, Third Eye looks to be on the cusp of opening their Hamilton location that is expected to take them to a brewing capacity of around 10,000 barrels per year (or about five times what they currently brew).

They’ve created a separate Facebook page for the Hamilton location and have said they tentatively plan to be open sometime in late October.

GlendAlehouse Brewery

I’m a little surprised that GlendAlehouse hasn’t opened yet, as they were on Cincy Brewcast over the summer and said they hoped to be open sometime in August. The space looks awesome – it’s literally an old house that the owners raised their family in, and they added a garage in the back to brew beer and a pizza oven. It’s going to be a cool neighborhood hangout in Glendale when they do finally open.

Gilligan’s on the Green

Speaking of places that are going to be awesome neighborhood hangouts, Wyoming is going to finally get a brewery when Gilligan’s on the Green opens. West Side Brewing partnered with an investment group to open a brewery in the former Station BBQ that is over 9,000 square feet.

They’ve already released their menu, started a mug club, and even done a few sneak peaks. So we have to assume that beer will be flowing before long.

DVD Brew

Up in Loveland, a place that has been quietly plugging along is the project of a longtime homebrewer. Set in a former carwash, the space is coming along. They have a brew team, and now they have kegs. Kegs mean beer soon, right?

Side note: how genius is it to think of putting a brewhouse in a former car wash? I mean, the space already has drains and high cielings!
