How many breweries are there in Cincinnati? Short answer: a lot.
But really, it depends on who you talk to. How do you define “breweries”? How do you define Cincinnati? The way that I define a brewery is any location with a brewing license that is operating in the city. (Greater) Cincinnati is defined as the area approximately 40 miles from the city’s center at downtown. Anyway, enough semantics. By my count, Cincinnati currently has 72 locations that can be described as some sort of brewery.
That includes:
- 64 true breweries
- 4 production facilities without a taproom (Samuel Adams, MillerCoors, Off Track, and Rhinegeist)
- 2 taprooms that have brewing licenses but don’t actively brew (LOCOBA by Platform and BrewDog Cincinnati)
- 2 taprooms that don’t carry brewing licenses (Wooden Cask’s Bridgeview Box Park location and Christian Moerlein’s CVG location)
There are also currently at least nine breweries in the works for the Cincinnati area, including a second Listermann location. Check out all of the planned breweries in the Coming Soon section of my site.
So, without further ado:
