Brian Rogers (12-8, 5-6 Bellator) needed a win at Bellator 147, and that’s exactly what he got, as “The Predator” submitted Virgil Zwicker (14-5-1, 2-2-1 Bellator) with an arm triangle in the second round.
It was just the second submission in the career of Rogers, and the first submission since his first career victory in 2008.
The Cleveland native, who now lives and trains in Denver, Colorado, snapped a two-fight losing streak and appeared to be rejuvenated in his move to the light heavyweight division.
Rogers was more reserved than normal, picking his shots instead of rushing in. He landed a takedown to steal the first round, and appeared headed toward the same result in round two before locking in the submission.
