The Primetime MMA: Anarchy at the Armory event that was slated to take place in Piqua, Ohio on October 10 has been canceled, according to event organizer Johnny Conner.
According to Conner’s Facebook post, the National Guard Armory in Piqua decided to not allow the event to happen at their venue. This is interesting because last weekend’s ‘Heat Wave 2’ event from Gladiator Promotions in Kentucky was also forced to switch venues at the last minute due to venue issues.
Conner’s statement (which is posted below) noted that the event had more than the minimum number of fights required by the Ohio Athletic Commission and that the event was actually sold out.
An intriguing female bout between popular fighters Chelsea Faulder (4-1) and Erin Hackworth (1-1) was slated to take place at the event, according to sources.
The Primetime MMA organization is expected to hold an event in Fostoria, Ohio sometime in November.
Conner’s full statement:
I hate to inform everyone but the MMA show on October 10th in Piqua will not be happening. Everything was a go leading up to today and the piqua Armory emailed us and said they would not be able to have us. There were more than enough fights for this show to happen and in my eyes this would have been one of the best cards of the year. I’d like to thank everyone for their support, the show was sold out!!! For a refund on your tickets please contact the fighter you got them from. I would like to thank Gary Young for trying to help us bring a quality mma show to the area. He busted his ass on this for our fighters and our gym. Also want to thank Chelsea Faulder Tim Frye Greg Highley Dallas Joshua Cassel Brett North Christopher Wolf Bob Moore Dionte Findley Megan Wallace Tim Halfacre all the fighters that were ready to put on a amazing show. Myself and everyone involved in putting this show on are very disappointed that the venue pulled out 10 days befor this event. Please know we did everything in our power to make this work. There will be a show in Fostoria in November for the same promotion. Please know the promotion had nothing to do with this, it was only the venue backing out at the last min. That made this show not happen. Again I apologize for this. Thank you all for your support.
