The lineup has been set for this weekend’s IT Fight Series 35, as the event is set to go down on Saturday at Competition Accessories in Springfield, Ohio.
In the main event, Jan Finney (7-10) is set to take on Marciea Allen (4-2) in a women’s bout.
Finney, a Springfield native, will get the opportunity to compete in her hometown and state for the first time. A former Strikeforce title challenger, she has faced some of the biggest names in the sport, including Cris “Cyborg” Justino, Miesha Tate, Holly Holm, and Liz Carmouche. She had a three-plus year absence from the sport, but she returned to action earlier this year, where she dropped a decision to Valentina Svechenko at Legacy FC 39 in Houston. Overall, she looks to snap a four-fight losing streak to pick up her first win since 2010.
Allen, a South Dakota native, is a rising star in the sport who has already faced stiff competiton through six fights. Her only losses are to current UFC fighters Jessamyn Duke and Ashlee Evans-Smith, but the Invicta FC veteran recently picked up the biggest win of her career as she submitted Strikeforce veteran Carina Damm in the first round of their April bout.
The night’s co-main event will feature a welterweight battle pitting the fast-rising Timmy McCavit (4-1) against Kentucky native Portland Pringle (6-4). The two fighters appear to be headed in opposite directions, as McCavit has won four straight bouts via first round stoppage since dropping his pro debut, while Pringle is looking to snap a three-fight losing streak.
The night’s third pro bout will feature a bit of a grudge match, as longtime Ohio MMA veterans Zach Cook (1-2) and Mike Williams (2-3) will square off. Despite both being veterans of the amateur scene in Ohio before turning pro, they have yet to cross paths. That will change on Sunday. Cook picked up his first pro win in Tennessee in March, while Williams has alternated losses and wins through his first five bouts.
On the amateur side, champion Chelsea Faulder (3-1) will make the first defense of her IT Fight Series strawweight title, as she takes on Washington, D.C. area native Roya Darvishian (8-4) in a highly antcipated amateur main event.
Local favorite Justin Richwine (2-2) is also looking to pick up a victory in his hometown against Mesmaran Sunseray (3-4) in a heavyweight bout.
The event will be streamed live via CageCaster.com with BluegrassMMA’s David McKinney and Juan Valle on the call.
