Khama Worthy headlines King of the Cage on September 26 in Pennsylvania

After a pair of successful events, King of the Cage will return to Western Pennsylvnia next month for KOTC: Hands of Steel, and a familiar face will be in the evening’s marquee fight.

Featherweight fighter Khama Worthy (7-4) is set to throw down opposide veteran fighter Chris Coggins (7-9) in the featured bout at the event, which goes down on September 26 at The Meadows Casino in Washington, Pennsylvania.

While the official bout order hasn’t been announced by the organization, Worthy Tweeted earlier today that he will be in the final bout of the night:

Worthy comes into the bout looking to halt a two-fight skid, as he has been knocked out in the second round in back-to-back bouts. First, Billy Quarantillo finished him in the main event at Strike Off 4 in February, and then he was victim to a perfectly placed right hand at the hands of Matt Bessette in the co-main event at CES MMA 29 in June. Prior to the two losses, the Pittsburgh native was on a six-fight winning streak with five of those wins coming via knockout on his end.

Tennessee’s Coggins is a Bellator and XFC veteran who has fallen on some hard times in recent outings. The 25-year-old is just 2-8 in his last 10 bouts after starting his career 5-1. But a majority of those losses have come to some tough opponents, as he has stepped in with the likes of Scott Holtzman, Nick Newell, Adam Townsend, Mike Wilkins, and Justin Steave.

The rest of the card is deep as well, including bouts featuring heavyweights Adam Milstead (5-1) vs. Robert Morrow (23-19-1), female bantamweights Shanna Young (2-0) vs. Cassie Crisano (1-1), lightweights Cameron VanCamp (2-2-1) vs. Andrew Law (4-3), and featherweights Francis Healy (4-3) vs. Brett Ewing (4-6).

Milstead returns from a year-plus layoff due to an injury he suffered in his last fight, which was a devastating knockout win over Nick Smiley. The Pittsburgh heavyweight is on everybody’s short list of fighters with UFC potential, and he could be put over the hump if he can reel off back-to-back victories over Lewis Rumsey at Gladiators of the Cage 18 next week and then Morrow.

One of the busier fighters on the regional scene, Chicago’s Morrow is 8-2-1 over the past two years.
