Cincinnati native and ex-Bellator featherweight champion Daniel Straus (22-6, 9-3 Bellator) has his next fight scheduled, as the 145-pound fighter is slated to face Henry Corrales (12-0, 0-0 Bellator) next month at Bellator 138 in St. Louis.

Straus, who now trains with American Top Team in Florida, will return to the Bellator cage for the first time since suffering a fourth round submission loss to Patricio “Pitbull” Freire in their title fight at Bellator 132.

Straus won the Bellator title with a decision victory over Pat Curran at Bellator 103, but he was submitted in the fifth round with just 14 seconds left in their fight in the rematch at Bellator 112.

After earning another title shot with a victory over Justin Wilcox at Bellator 127 last October, Straus was again submitted in a title fight, this time in the fourth round against Freire.

Four of the former Vision MMA fighter’s six losses have actually come at the hands of Curran and Freire.

Corrales, the King of the Cage featherweight champion, will make his Bellator debut as he looks to keep his perfect record intact. Ten of his victories have come via stoppage, including four knockouts and six submissions.

Bellator 138 takes place on June 19th at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis and will be headlined by a heavyweight bout featuring Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson and UFC Hall of Famer Ken Shamrock. The co-main event features Freire defending his featherweight title against challenger Daniel Weichel.
