Just days after we learned of the first four professional bouts that will be part of next month’s IT Fight Series 33 card in Columbus, Ohio, the organization has already added another professional contest to the lineup, as Corey Meeks (2-0) will take on Tray Taylor (1-3) at bantamweight.
Meeks looks to extend his unblemished record, as the 25-year-old Ronin Training Center and Roufusport product most recently earned a hard-fought split decision win over Indiana’s Christopher Johnson in the fight of the night at Absolute Cage Fighting 2 in March. He made his professional debut last May with a 50-second TKO win at an NAFC event in Wisconsin.
Taylor comes in after posting the first win of his career, a third round TKO over Curtis Doner at IT Fight Series 31 last month that earned him “Performance of the Night” honors in our recap of the event. He now looks to make it two in a row when he faces Meeks next month.
IT Fight Series 33 takes place on May 23rd at the Stars Indoor Sports Complex and features a professional bantamweight title bout in the main event as Alfred Leisure takes on Charlie Gathers.
According to the Facebook event page, the fight card is also expected to feature Columbus area fighters Shawn Eric Davis, Lance Phillips, Floyd Cisco, Ronnie Shoemaker and more in addition to the previously reported bouts.
The current lineup for IT Fight Series 33 (subject to change):
135 lbs – Alfred Leisure vs. Charlie Gathers – for bantamweight title
265 lbs – Jason Riley vs. Tim Dunn
170 lbs – Chico Bays vs. LA Hampton
