Weekend Preview

The Ohio Valley MMA eyes will be focused on the Buckeye State this weekend, as a pair of events in Ohio are the lone cards on tap this weekend for our coverage area.

Both will go down on Saturday, as RFO returns to its home base for Big Guns 15, while IT Fight Series 31 goes down in Lima.

BluegrassMMA will have live results and recaps from both events, so be sure to keep your browser pointed here all weekend long.

Here’s what’s on tap:[/tps_header]

March 21st – Mansfield, OH

After a five-month absence, the RFO will return to Mansfield this weekend with Big Guns 15. The pro/am lineup features a total of 15 bouts, including 4 pros and one amateur title bout.

In the headliner, Josh Longood (1-0) will look to stay unbeaten as a pro when he faces Jeff Mack (0-0, 11-3 am) in a bantamweight contest. Longood has won four bouts in a row dating back to his amateur career, and is 9-1 overall. Mack won three of his last four amateur bouts, and he competed in a whopping seven title fights during his amateur career, posting a 5-2 record in those fights.

In the co-feature, Eric Bledsoe (2-1) will step in on short notice to face Mansfield native Mike Williams (2-2). Williams looks for the first two-fight winning streak of his career while Bledsoe looks to rebound from his only loss.

The other two pro bouts will feature flyweights Dennis Brown (3-1) vs. Cody Gabelman (2-1) and heavyweights Jeff Hughes (1-0) vs. Leviticus Roberson (1-1).

On the amateur side of things, Rich Cantolina (11-7) will challenge Aaron Neighbors (10-6) for the RFO bantamweight title, while a pair of unbeaten flyweights will square off as Alex Poinar (4-0) takes on New York’s Billy Windrum (5-0).
