IT Fight Series 29

November 22 – Columbus, OH

IT Fight Series makes its second trip to Columbus, Ohio on Saturday night, featuring a 15-fight card including 6 pro fights. The main event features “Ultimate Fighter 19” contestant Dan “Dragon” Spohn (8-4) in his first fight since appearing on the reality show, and he’ll face late replacement Michael Cockerham (8-13), who took the fight on less than a week’s notice. Spohn was on a two-fight winning streak before appearing on TUF 19, and he now looks to move his record to 3-0 in his adopted hometown as he makes his IT Fight Series debut. This will be Cockerham’s 12th fight of 2014, as he looks to move his record on the year to an even 6-6.

The co-main event features a pair of exciting fighters in the featherweight division, as Alfred Leisure (2-0) takes on Mike Velazquez (3-1). Chico Bays (0-0, 7-3 am) will finally make his long-awaited pro debut, as the Columbus native takes on Travis Hussey (0-0, 4-2-1 am) in a welterweight bout.

“The Ultimate Fighter: China” contestant Albert Cheng (2-3) will look to snap a three-fight losing streak, as the Canadian fighter welcomes Matt Brown (0-0, 6-4 am) to the pro ranks at a catchweight of 165 pounds. Another Canadian will be in action at welterweight, as Eric Attard (4-5) looks to snap a four-fight losing streak when he takes on Timmy McCavit (2-1). The final pro bout will feature welterweights as well, as Caleb Fickert (1-1) faces Larry Ray (0-2) at 170 pounds. Nine amateur bouts are also on tap, including a title eliminator in the amateur flyweight division.
