Weekend Preview

As an media outlet, BluegrassMMA has a bit of a bucket list of organizations we’d like to cover live. We’ll get to cross off one of those organizations this weekend, as we head to Charlotte, North Carolina to cover Fight Lab 42. They say it’s just as much of a party as an MMA event, and we’re counting on that.

Check out the preview of Fight Lab 42 below, as well as another event taking place in the Bluegrass State this weekend. And of course, be sure to return here to BluegrassMMA.com early next week for recaps of all of this weekend’s action.[/tps_header]

November 14 – Charlotte, NC

Fight Lab is set to host its year-end extravaganza, and the entire BluegrassMMA crew will be on hand to witness it. Seven amateur fights and five pro fights are on tap, including a headliner featuring multiple-time XFC veteran Keith Richardson (11-6) taking on Georgia’s Rusty Crowder (4-3). Richardson is 6-1 under the Fight Lab banner, with his only loss coming to current UFC featherweight Charles Rosa. He looks to build off of a win from Fight Lab 38 in July, when he submitted Eric Calderon in the first round. Crowder makes his Fight Lab debut, but he’s 4-1 in his last 5 fights including winning his last two.

The rest of the card is packed with a wealth of talent, including co-headiner Cody Wilson (6-1), who looks for his seventh straight win. He’ll face Elder Ramos (8-5) in a welterweight clash. Bellator veteran Brett Glass (4-2) makes his Fight Lab debut as well, and the Virginian has won his last 3 fights via TKO. Amateur champ Trey Singleton (0-0, 7-2-1 am) will make his pro debut as well. In amateur action, Marcus Fludd (6-3) will look to defend his title against Grant Shanaman (4-1).

Singleton and amateur fighter Duran McDonald – as well as “pit boss” Kenny Letts – joined BluegrassMMA Live earlier this week to talk about the fight card.
