This week’s Throwback Thursday won’t take long – 10 seconds to be exact.
That’s how long it took Dan Spohn to flatten Tyler King during the preliminary round of “The Ultimate Fighter 19” to make it into the house.
UFC president Dana White called Spohn’s win “probably the nastiest f*cking knockout” of the entire show’s history.
Spohn went on to make it to the semifinals before losing to Matt Van Buren, and he then dropped a decision to Patrick Walsh on the show’s finale.
But Spohn has returned to the regional scene since appearing on TUF 19 last summer, picking up three straight wins to move his record to 11-4.
Now Spohn has perhaps the biggest fight of his career ahead of him, as he travels to Philadelphia tomorrow night to challenge Zu Anyanwu for the heavyweight title at CFFC 53. The winner of the fight could be headed to the UFC.
