This week’s Throwback Thursday features a middleweight battle between Muhammad Abdullah and Timmy McCavit that took place at IT Fight Series 21 in Troy, Ohio on August 15, 2013.
Both of the fighters were young in their careers, as Abdullah came in with a 1-0 pro record while it was the pro debut for McCavit.
The two battled a slippery fighting surface due to condensation building up at the outdoor event that took place at the Miami County Fair.
In another interesting note, it was also the first IT Fight Series event that we here at BluegrassMMA covered.
Juan Valle awarded Abdullah “Knockout of the Night” honors for his first-round TKO victory over Abdullah, as he moved up to 2-0.
Now 5-1, Abdullah will compete this weekend at Hoosier Fight Club 26 when he faces Nick Kraus (9-3) for the HFC middleweight title.
