Explosive Fight Promotions will close out a banner year on Thanksgiving Eve, as Caged Madness 39 is set to go down at the Tadmor Shrine in Akron, Ohio.

A total of 16 amateur bouts will take place, and current UFC bantamweight contender and Northeast Ohio native Cody “No Love” Garbrandt will be a special guest on hand at the event.

In the night’s main event, super heavyweight champion Nick Brashear (5-0) will defend his title against Tyler Tschour (5-1).

Brashear has yet to be defeated, and he earned the EFP super heavyweight title with a unanimous decision victory over Eddy Faison at Caged Madness 38 in September. Tschour has just one defeat, but he has won three in a row, including a win over Faison as well at Big Guns 14 just over a year ago.

In the co-main event, EFP middleweight champion Frankie Festa (5-1) will square off again in a rematch against Mike Seibert (4-4) in a non-title bout.

Festa and Seibert competed in a fantastic fight back at Caged Madness 34 in February in a middleweight title eliminator, which Festa took via unanimous decision. With Seibert set to go into the military soon, he asked matchmaker Scott Corbin for a return match, and Festa obliged setting up what should be another great battle.

In an intriguing debut, Austin Meese (0-0) will make his debut. Meese is the son of boxing coach Bob Meese, and is also Garbrandt’s cousin.

The elder Meese has worked extensively with Garbrandt and many say that the former Olympic alternate has been one of the keys to Cody’s success throughout his career. It will be interesting to see if any of the talent of Garbrandt has rubbed off on the 18-year-old Austin Meese as he makes his debut against Tristian Houston (0-1) in a lightweight bout.

In other notable bouts, highly touted Evolve MMA prospects Tywan Claxton (1-0) and Brian Hauser (2-0) will look to stay unbeaten with tough matchups.
