MMA action returned to Kokomo, Indiana over the weekend, as Colosseum Combat XXXIII went down at the National Guard Armory.
In the night’s main event, veteran Jeremy Pender (11-11) moved his record back to .500, as he submitted James Porter (7-4) with a rear naked choke with just five minutes left in the second round. Pender snapped a three-fight losing streak, while Porter has now lost two in a row.
Also in action was “The Ultimate Fighter” veteran Daniel Head (12-10), who needed just 4:15 to submit Pierce Overton (2-3) with a guillotine. It was a big win for Head, who had been just 2-8 in his previous 10 bouts.
Also victorious was Kentucky native Nathan Maness (6-0), whose ever impressive record could get him a call from the UFC sooner rather than later. It took him just over two minutes to put Michael Ricketts (4-1) to sleep, as he postured up after hitting a lat drop takedown and threw big bombs to get the finish.
