Still only 21 years old, Cody Gabelman (3-2) is currently preparing for his sixth professional fight, as he will travel to Virginia for Strike Off 6, where he will face Martin Davila (2-0) in a flyweight bout.
The Cincinnati native is looking to gain his footing as a pro, as he started off 2-0 but has dropped two of three bouts since. After a 12-1 amateur career, he made his pro debut last January by stopping Christian Reed via TKO in the first round. He followed that up with a submission victory over Darnell Pettis, but he suffered his first pro defeat against the more experienced Cory Alexander earlier this year.
After a rear naked choke victory over Dennis Brown in just 65 seconds, he again dropped a bout to Justin King in August.
A lifelong martial artist, Gabelman was built for the sport and talks about how he began cornering fighters and wrapping hands at the age of 14 in an interview with GFL.
Davila has become a mainstay in the Strike Off organization, as the Miami, Florida native earned a submission in his pro debut at Strike Off 4 before picking up a second career submission win at Strike Off 5 in June.
The main event of Strike Off 6 features UFC veteran Kris McCray taking on King of the Cage veteran Billy Ward. The full fight card is available via GFL, and you can purchase the iPPV through this link.
