The lineup is set for this weekend’s King of the Cage: Hands of Steel event in Washington, Pennsylvania, and many of the top fighters from Western Pennsylvania will be in action as the long-running organization returns to The Meadows Casino.
In the main event, featherweights will square off as Pittsburgh product Khama Worthy (7-4) takes on Chris Coggins (7-9) at 145 pounds.
A Fight Club Pittsburgh product, Worthy looks to rebound from back-to-back knockout losses. He had put together a six-fight winning streak that was garnering him some national attention, but 2015 has been a year that he would rather forget thus far. He started off the year by losing via knockout to current ‘The Ultimate Fighter 22’ cast member Billy Quarantillo, and then he was victim to a vicous overhand right against Bellator veteran Matt Bessette in the co-main event at CES MMA 29 in June. Still one of the most exciting fighters in the sport, he’ll look to get back to his winning ways against Coggins.
A Bellator and two-time XFC veteran, Coggins has had a rough go of things recently after starting out his career with a 6-2 mark. He’s just 1-8 in his last nine bouts, and he most recently was TKO’d by Worthy’s teammate Justin Steave at King of the Cage: Lone Survivor in April.
The co-feature will pit veteran heavyweights, as Adam Milstead (6-1) is set to take on Robert Morrow (23-19-1).
After two lengthy layoffs, Milstead is once again one of the hottest heavyweight prospects in the sport, stemming from a 70-second destruction of Lewis Rumsey at Gladiators of the Cage 18 in August. Returning just over a month later, the Fight Club Pittsburgh product looks to build on a six-fight win streak where he has earned stoppages in all six. Finally healthy, he’ll look to get perhaps the biggest win of his career when he faces Morrow.
Hailing from the Chicago area, Morrow has posted an 8-2-1 record over the past two years with six of his wins via stoppage. Most recently, he submitted Miodrag Petkovich at UCL: Mayhem on Memorial Day weekend.
Also in action will be featherweight Francis Healy (4-3), who looks to best Brett Ewing (4-6).
After a solid amateur carer, Healy has yet to gain much momentum as a pro. After starting off 3-1, he is just 1-2 in his last three fights with losses to Josh Baker and Matt DiMarcantonio. His most recent win was in December, when he submitted Manny Milan at a Gladiators of the Cage event.
Ewing, who hails from Ohio but has fought out of Texas and Florida, is looking to snap a three-fight losing streak when he faces Healy. His most recent win was in 2013, when he submitted Raynaldo Rodriguez at Pride of the Valley 2.
